New Video: Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, DJ Battlecat, DOC, 1500 or Nothin & More In The Studio for Dr. Dre’s ‘Detox’
Over the years I have heard rumors and stirs of Dr. Dre’s long-awaited, much-anticipated, third studio album Detox. As of recently with his dropping of the track Kush about a year ago I almost believed the hype that it will be dropping 4/20/2011 and again rumored for 4/20/2012. Ice Cube weighed in as to why he thinks there’s delays, but only Dre knows the truth. As for now, here is some more hype for this imaginary album as we see some of the best of the west in the studio jammin to beats that I can’t help but point out sound very Dre-ish. Whatever, just watch and anticipate that Detox.
“…is that Dre over there? Yeahhh…”
Hip hop legend Ice Cube recently sat down with Sway & Devi Dev on Sway in the Morning on Sirius radio to talk about anything that popped into mind when asking this OG questions. Lots of HUGE topics get touched on including the possibility of Chris Tucker in the new Friday film, the development of the NWA movie, his wife & kids, and why he believes Dr. Dre’s long anticipated Detox keeps hitting delays. It’s a three part interview but they are radio interviews, if you don’t watch and just listen you don’t miss anything.
This video is beyond baller status right here. Rozay’s party was looking absolutely off the chain and the spot to be. Rick Ross blazing up fat joints and blunts in VIP greeting all of his guests that came out; meanwhile, endless bottles of Ciroc and champagne being paraded out with the sparklers going off all in front of an incredible DJ stage and set. What more could a man ask for in a birthday party? How about a Hublot watch from Dr. Dre valued at over $100,000. Lot’s of big names and heavy hitters in hip hop came out to support the Boss. Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose, Diddy, Jadakiss, Styles P, Meek Mill, Wale, and Cassie were just a few of those faces. Finish things up with a live performance and it looks like that party was a wrap! Incredible!
For hip-hop enthusiasts, 2010 was the year in which the imminent release of Dr. Dre’s long-awaited “Detox” album finally started to seem like a reality. Originally set to hit stores in 2004, Dre’s supposedly final album was repeatedly delayed for a number of reasons, including his obsessive perfectionism, his commitment to producing other artists, as well as his ‘Beats by Dre’ headphone line. But in late 2010, two tracks from the album appeared online: “I Need a Doctor” featuring Eminem and “Kush” featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon. According to sources, Dre has recorded over 500 songs for the album with some of the hottest names in the game but will only select the best 15 or so for the album. We are about to witness history in April 20th (4/20). Ironic? NOPE!
