Rights To Eminem Too Expensive for “Glee”

Fox television’s hit series Glee has introduced millions of viewers to various popular songs. Last year, the series cast performed songs by popular artists Lady Gaga, Britney Spears & Katy Perry. In a recent interview, Glee creator Ryan Murphy revealed that the show wanted to recreate another popular artists, Eminem. Glee attempted to cover Eminem’s 2002 hit “Lose Yourself,” but the legal rights to cover the gold single would cost $200,000.  Murphy stated that they “couldn’t do it because the episode would’ve been over budget”. If they had the money to do so, would it have been better than the original? Glee fans would say YES, but true hip hop enthusiasts would say NO WAY! There’s only 1 B Rabbit!
