Artist Profiles: Bangladesh

Seandrae Crawford, better known as Bangladesh or Mr. Bangladesh, is an American record producer and DJ who was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, and now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Bangladesh is quickly becoming rap music’s next big thing. Though his name and signature “Bangladesh” sound bite may be new to some, Shondrae has been crafting platinum hits for years. While working as a barber, Shondrae was also sharpening the production skills that would go on to make virtually unknown rappers into worldwide superstars. His big break came when in 1998 when an old classmate of his introduced him to a then unsigned Ludacris in and the rest is history. Over the next few years he went on to produce the majority of Luda’s first two multi-platinum albums, Back for the First Timeand Word of Mouf including Luda’s first smash single, “What’s Yo Fantasy.” He will also be contributing tracks to Ludacris’ upcoming album. Now, Shondrae is known for getting other artists record deals via his beats and is suited by some of hip-hop’s biggest names.
